Services by Migrant Workers Office (MWO)
(formerly known as POLO – Philippine Overseas Labor Office)
The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) is an extension of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) established to protect and promote the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Located in various Philippine embassies and consulates worldwide, the MWO serves as the frontline agency for labor-related services and worker protection abroad.
Where to Find the MWO
The MWO is usually housed within or near the Philippine Embassy or Consulate. For example, if you’re in Lithuania, services are provided through the MWO based in Warsaw, Poland, which has jurisdiction over Lithuania.
Contact details, schedules, and outreach missions are typically posted on the Embassy’s website or official Facebook page.
Tips for OFWs:
- Always verify your employment contract through MWO before leaving the Philippines or changing employers
- Keep copies of your documents (contract, passport, OEC)
- Don’t hesitate to contact MWO if you face workplace issues or emergencies
- Participate in seminars and training for long-term empowerment and reintegration
For Labor matters or inquiries about Accreditation, Employment Contracts, OEC, OWWA membership, and other employment-related concerns, the MWO-Prague based in the Czech Republic may be reached through:
