On September 6, the heart of Kaunas came alive with the sound of bouncing basketballs, cheers of community, and the spirit of friendly competition as the Filipino community in Lithuania gathered for their much-anticipated First Filipino Community Basketball Tournament.
The event took place at Rio Sporto Arena, where four teams faced off: two from Vilnius—QAV and DS Warriors—and two from Kaunas—Gilas Kaunas and Kaunas PH. In the end, QAV, a team made up mostly of students, claimed first place.
For Filipinos in Lithuania, however, this tournament was about more than just basketball. It was a celebration of culture, connection, and the shared love of the game.
