Celebrating International Migrant Workers Day in Lithuania
On June 7, 2026, the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, together with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)–Prague and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), sponsored a free massage and haircut program in celebration of International Migrant Workers Day. The event was organized to recognize and honor the hard work, dedication, and valuable contributions of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) living and working in Lithuania.
The celebration served as a tribute to the hardworking OFWs whose dedication, resilience, and sacrifices continue to uplift their families and contribute to the nation’s progress. As modern-day heroes (bagong bayani), they persevere through challenges and remain beacons of hope, demonstrating resilience, excellence, and commitment in their work abroad.
At least 18 OFWs attended the activity and availed themselves of the complimentary wellness and grooming services. The event provided participants with an opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy a well-deserved break from their daily routines. It also fostered camaraderie among members of the Filipino community in Lithuania, creating a meaningful space for fellowship, support, and celebration.
The gathering was a simple yet meaningful way of expressing gratitude to OFWs for their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication, both to their families and to the Philippines.
